Fresh Tomato Bloody Mary

Materials

  • 3 pounds Fresh Tomatoes roughly diced
  • 1 small Cipollini Onion or Shallot roughly diced
  • 1/4 cup Celery Root roughly diced (or 1 tsp. Celery Seed)
  • 1 small Spicy Pepper like jalapeño (optional)
  • 1 large Garlic Clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt + more to taste
  • 3 teaspoons Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Worcestershire Sauce to taste
  • Grated Horseradish Root to taste
  • Freshly Ground Pepper to taste
  • Hot Sauce to taste
  • Celery Salt for rimming
  • 1.5 - 2 ounces Favorite Spirit (optional)

Instructions

  • First roughly dice your tomatoes, onion, celery root and spicy pepper and add them to your blender. If you don’t have celery root you can substitute 1 tsp. celery seed. Then add 1/2 tsp. salt and 3 tsp. of fresh lemon juice and blend until liquid.
  • Pass your tomato juice through a strainer to remove any seeds. Now taste your mix and add Worcestershire Sauce, ground pepper, salt and hot sauce to your liking.
  • Serve over ice or blend with your favorite spirit. To make a cocktail simply combine 3/4 c. – 1 c. Bloody Mary Mix with 1.5 – 2 ounces of liquor and strain over ice. Add preferred garnishes and enjoy!
