Materials

  • 1 cup AP Flour
  • 1/4 cup Corn Starch
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar or Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted
  • 1 large Egg lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients (including optional variations) to a medium bowl and whisk to mix well. The batter will be very thick.
  • Allow batter to rest for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat your waffle maker and set to to your desired doneness. Once hot, spray waffle maker with oil and add batter to the middle. (Dot with blueberries if adding before cooking.) Close the lid and cook according to manufacturer directions.
  • Remove from waffle maker and serve immediately or keep warm in a 300 degree oven.
  • Top with desired toppings like butter, syrup, whipped cream, berries, nuts, powdered sugar, curd, peanut butter, etc.
